Role Description The Lead Mining Engineer – Advisory role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Melbourne, VIC, with flexibility for part-time work from home. This role focuses on providing strategic mining engineering advisory services to support our clients related projects, including technical input on mine planning, operational performance, and project feasibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing mining data and production reports, preparing technical assessments and advisory documents, and contributing to transport and infrastructure planning related to coal mining operations.

The Lead Mining

Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with client stakeholders, and present clear recommendations that balance operational efficiency, safety, sustainability, and regulatory requirements. The role also involves mentoring team members, supporting business development activities,



and contributing to continuous improvement of advisory methodologies and tools.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mining Engineering, with experience applying engineering principles in operational or advisory contexts.
- Demonstrated expertise in Mine Planning, including short-, medium, and long-term planning for coal or other mining operations.
- Proven Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data, model scenarios, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
- Experience in Coal and Coal Mining operations, including familiarity with safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and best-practice production methods.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline; professional registration or eligibility is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, presentations, and client-facing documents.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver advisory outcomes to agreed timelines.
- Experience in consulting, advisory, or project-based work within infrastructure, resources, or government sectors is beneficial.
- Familiarity with relevant mining software and tools (e.g., mine planning and scheduling systems) and solid proficiency in standard office software.
