Could You Help Protect Australian Communities From Their Next Supplier Collapse?

In FY2025-26, 14,152 Australian companies became insolvent, nearly 39 a day. Behind every failure are disrupted supply chains, delayed projects and communities without the services they were promised.

For government entities, a supplier bankruptcy means construction halted mid-build, contracts abandoned and taxpayer dollars gone with no straightforward path to recovery.

This is the problem we built CreditSource to solve.

The Prospect

This is a rare opportunity for a motivated self-starter ready for their next challenge, stepping up to take an established, profitable and recognised founder-led company to the next level. We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to own our national sales function and drive growth across the government sector.

You will need to have attracted accounts like these before, with the government network to make an impact from day one. You will be leading the charge on government sales. That means you plan the go-to-market strategy, decide which channels we invest in, generate your own pipeline and close the deals.

You will report on what is working and what is not, and you will be expected to back your own judgement. A dedicated marketing function will support you with collateral, campaigns and content, but the commercial outcomes sit with you.

If that sounds like you, read on.

Who We Are

CreditSource is an independent Australian firm specialising in supplier financial risk assessment for government. Our recommendations are based on deep analysis based on profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow data. This lets us identify financial distress before it shows up in a credit file or an insolvency notice.

Each year we assess the financial capability of 50,000 suppliers for our clients. In addition, three global credit bureaus rely on us for financial risk data on private Australian companies.

Our clients include Federal Government agencies, State Departments and local councils. We hold panel positions across several government and LGA procurement frameworks.

What the Role Requires

You own the full sales cycle, from first conversation to signed contract. We handle the admin: leads lists, contact data and market intelligence are ours to provide, so your time goes into setting appointments and closing, not building spreadsheets.

Turning that into meetings is still on you. That means working your own government relationships, generating referrals, working the leads and data we give you and, where it is the right way in, cold calling. Whatever it takes to get a meeting on the calendar and a deal across the line is your job.

We are not looking for someone who needs a playbook handed to them. We are looking for someone who has written one, and who manages their pipeline and hits their KPIs without being chased.

What You'll Do

- Plan, execute and report on a go-to-market strategy across the government sector
- Build and manage your pipeline, combining your own network and referrals with the leads and data we provide, with accurate forecasting
- Turn leads and conversations into meetings with procurement directors,

risk managers and infrastructure leads
- Drive the full sales cycle from first contact to contract
- Contribute to tender responses (RFPs, RFQs) with full support from our marketing function
- Represent CreditSource at industry events, procurement forums and government summits
- Bring new market opportunities and channel ideas directly to the leadership team

What You Bring

- An established network within Australian government across procurement, finance, risk or infrastructure, that lets you make an impact from day one
- A track record of turning leads, relationships and referrals into meetings and signed deals, without needing to be chased
- Five or more years of selling professional services or data solutions into government, consistently hitting targets
- A clear understanding of government procurement processes, panel arrangements and funding cycles
- Experience planning and executing go-to-market strategy, not just working within one someone else built
- The ability to translate complex financial concepts into plain language for non-financial audiences

What We Offer

- Competitive base salary with meaningful performance-based commission
- Leads, contact data and market intelligence, so your time goes on selling, not admin
- A hybrid working pattern
- The authority to shape CreditSource's go-to-market approach, with a marketing function behind you
- Direct access to the founder and leadership team
- Work that has a clear, demonstrable impact on communities

Ready to Apply?

Submit your CV and a short cover letter covering three things:

- Your experience as the primary or sole salesperson in a comparable business
- The depth of your government network
- Why supplier financial risk is a problem worth solving
