Role Description The Managing Director role at HRS Trailers is a full-time, on-site position based in Penrith, NSW. This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership, setting business direction, and driving growth across all operational areas, including engineering, manufacturing, sales, and after-sales support. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing financial performance, managing budgets, and ensuring efficient use of resources, as well as monitoring key performance indicators and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
The Managing
Director will lead and develop the leadership team, foster a safe and high-performance culture,
and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies. The role also involves building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and industry partners, and representing the company in negotiations, industry forums, and strategic partnerships.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in executive or senior leadership roles within manufacturing, heavy vehicle, transport equipment, or related industrial sectors.
- Strong background in operations management, including production planning, process improvement, and quality assurance.
- Proven financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and P&L; management.
- Track record in strategic planning, business development, and driving growth in competitive markets.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, with solid people leadership, coaching, and performance management capabilities.
- Working knowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing and heavy vehicle industries.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MBA) are advantageous.
- Ability to work on-site in Penrith, NSW, with a hands-on approach to operations and customer engagement.
