Medical Receptionist – Specialist Surgical Practice

Westmead | 3 Days Per Week | $31–$33/hr + Super

Are you an experienced Medical Receptionist who enjoys looking after patients, takes pride in the little details and would love the opportunity to develop your skills within specialist surgery? Sometimes the right opportunity isn't about doing exactly what you've done before — it's about finding a practice where you can bring the experience you already have and continue to grow.

We are looking for a warm, organised and capable Medical Receptionist to join a specialist surgeon's private practice in Westmead, working three days per week.

This is a lovely opportunity for someone who already has medical reception experience and is looking for that next step. You may already have experience within a specialist or surgical practice, or you may be working in general practice or another healthcare setting and would love the opportunity to broaden your skills.

What matters to us is that you genuinely enjoy helping patients, have strong attention to detail and take pride in being someone your doctor and patients can rely upon.

A Little About the Role

Working closely with the specialist surgeon, you will become an important part of the day-to-day running of the practice. You will be the friendly voice patients hear when they call and one of the people helping guide them through their experience with the practice. For patients seeing a specialist or preparing for surgery, having someone who is warm, patient and organised can make such a difference.

Your day will include





- Welcoming patients and helping them feel comfortable when they arrive
- Answering telephone calls and assisting with patient enquiries
- Booking and coordinating appointments
- Managing patient billing and accounts
- Typing medical letters and correspondence
- Maintaining accurate patient information and records
- Liaising with the surgeon and supporting the smooth flow of the consulting day
- General medical reception and administration

The practice uses Clinic to Cloud, so previous experience with the software would certainly be welcomed, however it is not essential if you are comfortable learning new systems.

What We're Looking For

We don't necessarily need someone who has spent years working in a surgical practice. We would equally love to hear from an experienced Medical Receptionist who has developed strong foundations within healthcare and is now ready to learn more and expand their skills.

You may be the right fit if you are someone who:

- Has previous medical reception or healthcare administration experience
- Genuinely enjoys interacting with and supporting patients
- Has excellent attention to detail — particularly when it comes to patient information,



billing and correspondence
- Is organised and comfortable managing competing priorities
- Communicates warmly and professionally
- Takes ownership of their work and follows things through
- Enjoys learning and would value the opportunity to develop within specialist practice
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and professionalism within healthcare
- Wants to become a trusted and valued part of a practice rather than simply "do reception"

Specialist or surgical experience would be wonderful, but the right attitude, strong medical reception experience and willingness to learn are equally significant to us.

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Location: Westmead (parking included onsite)

Rate: $31–$33 per hour + superannuation, depending on experience
