We are partnering with a premier mining and resources client to deliver ground engineering, slope stability, and operational risk management across active mine sites in Western Australia. We are seeking a qualified Mining Geotechnical Engineer to represent our organisation and take technical ownership of rock mass characterisation, ground support design, and ground control monitoring systems.

Operating on a family-friendly 8:6 FIFO roster flying out of Perth, you will bridge mine planning and site production teams. You will be instrumental in maintaining the Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP), interpreting geotechnical instrumentation data, and ensuring ground conditions remain safe and reliable.

Core Responsibilities
- Ground Control &

• Stability: Administer and improve the site Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP) and conduct structural inspections across active mining areas.
- Geotechnical Monitoring &

- Instrumentation: Analyse real-time data from slope stability radar, prisms, extensometers,



and seismic monitoring networks.
- Ground Support &
- Design: Design, assess, and optimize rock reinforcement and ground support standards (cable bolts, mesh, rock bolts).
- Numerical Modelling &
- Kinematics: Perform rock mass classification, kinematic analysis, and numerical modelling using industry software (e.g., Rocscience suite, Map3D, FLAC).
- Mine Planning Integration: Collaborate closely with short- and long-term mine planning engineers to optimize pit wall / stope stability and drill & blast designs.
- Data Logging &
- QA/QC: Conduct geotechnical core logging, mapping, QA/QC testing on ground support installations, and hazard reporting.

Selection Criteria

- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geology.
- Mining Experience: Proven site-based experience as a Geotechnical Engineer in open-pit or underground mining environments.
- Technical Modelling & Tools: Proficiency with geotechnical modelling packages (Rocscience, Dips, Slide, RS2, or Deswik) and radar monitoring systems.
- Location & FIFO Readiness: Based in (or willing to relocate to) Western Australia to swing on an 8:6 FIFO roster ex-Perth. Holds a valid WA Construction Induction (White Card) and C-Class Driver’s Licence.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience with both open-pit slope stability and underground ground support systems.
- WA First Class Mine Manager's or Underground Supervisor’s certificate of competency exposure.
- Exposure to geotechnical seismic analysis and hydrogeological depressurisation.
