Bare Cove Technology is in a rapid-growth phase and onboarding new clients across Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia. To support our continued growth, Bare Cove is looking to hire several new members to the team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Bare Cove Technology is looking for Network Engineer with a passion for and experience with public cloud to join our growing team. The candidate will be focused on providing high-quality network support, design and analysis for the technology needs of our hedge fund, family office, and private equity clients. BCT’s clients leverage public and hybrid cloud solutions, and thus this position provides a unique opportunity for the ideal candidate to combine traditional network engineer expertise with cutting-edge recent cloud network technologies.
The candidate will also be involved in our cyber security business line.
This role is based in our Sydney office. The candidate will be reporting to the Infrastructure Team Lead.
Job Duties
- Handle 3rd level network and cloud-related escalations.
- Manage day to day on-premise and cloud network operations.
- Setup and fine-tune network monitoring for proactive alerts.
- Manage backup and recovery strategy for network devices and connectivity.
- Keep track of network device firmware and coordinate upgrades as required.
- Keep ticketing system up to date with internal and external updates and time entries.
- Work closely with the L1 support team to resolve internal and external network related issues.
- Coordinate with the account management department for client network infrastructure improvements and cloud migration initiatives.
- Get involved in various projects and new solution requirements for clients.
- Participate in DR/BCP exercises and improve network resiliency.
- Align network and infrastructure settings with industry recommended settings.
- Standardize infrastructure and create documentation.
- Keep up to date with emerging technology to provide the necessary solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare, review and provide feedback on technical audit and cybersecurity reports.
- Provide correct and complete documentation of all incidents, accurately describing all troubleshooting steps followed and root cause analysis.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of traditional network engineering principles, support and design.
- Exposure to public cloud networking technologies.
- Experience with Remote VPN and L2L VPN setups.
- Experience with on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with connectivity setup and troubleshooting between sites.
- Experience with industry-leading network devices, for example: Cisco, Palo Alto, FortiGate, SonicWall, Ruckus, Meraki.
- Experience with SASE solutions such as Check Point Harmony or Cisco Secure Access.
- CCNA or equivalent certification.
- Hands-on with standard routing protocols – OSPF, BGP, static routing.
- Strong understanding of switching technology - VLAN, spanning-tree, stacking, VLAN ACL, MAC address filtering.
- Knowledge of internal DNS and external DNS architecture.
- Proven ability to function in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
- Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive and readily embraces change.
- Ability to handle internal and client requests professionally.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Willing to work outside standard business hours when necessary for client change management.
The following qualities and experience are preferred:
- CCNP or equivalent certification.
- Azure network and/or AWS network certifications are a plus.
- Security Certifications such as CompTIA Security+.
- Experience with network automation.
- Experience with cloud-based network load balancers and application load balancers.
- PowerShell experience.
- Understanding of or experience with server and system architecture, including SMTP, SNMP, NTP, SSO, Hypervisor, Citrix, VMWare.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework.
