Primary objective
Provide coordinated education programs, sound clinical and education advice, and may provide direct clinical care for complex client presentations within the specialty area.
Context statement
This position is an expert level resource for oncology staff in the Alan Walker Cancer Care Centre,
providing education and clinical support as necessary, leading continuous quality improvement, and best practice activities within Cancer Services. This role assists to facilitate the antineoplastic drug administration course and chemotherapy specific education to nursing staff in line with evidence-based practice.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide specialist education advice and support professional development activities within a defined area of practice.
2. Provide direct support, instruction, and feedback, including mentoring students, graduates, and less experienced staff, across
the multidisciplinary team.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
2. Demonstrated highly developed clinical knowledge, skills,
and experience in a relevant area of nursing/midwifery.
3. Demonstrated education/training or experience in the development and/or delivery of education theory and practice.
4. Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education and career development for the
specialist practice area.
- Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to maximise productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate a positive learning environment.
6. Demonstrates well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence health care provision for individuals and groups.
Desirable
1. Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice relevant to specialty area.
