About the role

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our small and experienced team. This role offers a varied community caseload, with the opportunity to develop skills in neurological rehabilitation and robotic and technology-assisted therapy. You don't need to come to us with robotics experience. You do need to be curious, compassionate, clinically thoughtful and enjoy working collaboratively with clients and the people around them.

Our community caseload is varied and predominantly involves adults with neurological conditions, spinal cord injury, physical and psychosocial disability and other complex support needs. We work across a range of funding streams including NDIS, TAC, DVA, Aged Care and private services, and also assist people seeking access to the NDIS. Community travel is generally within approximately 45–60 minutes of our Moorabbin clinic, and therapists can discuss whether a referral is appropriate for their caseload before accepting it.

We are happy to consider 3, 4 or 5 days per week

Key responsibilities

- Functional and home-based Occupational Therapy assessments
- Neurological and physical disability intervention
- Assistive technology and equipment assessment and prescription
- Home modification assessment and recommendations
- Functional Capacity Assessments and other clinical reports
- Supporting clients to develop or maintain independence, safety and participation
- Working collaboratively with AOTS team, families, support workers, health professionals and other members of a client's support team
- NDIS access assessments and supporting documentation
- Community-based intervention and follow-up
- Clinic-based neurological and upper limb rehabilitation using robotic and computer-based technology, if this is an area you would like to develop

Interested in robotics and rehabilitation technology? This is where AOTS is a little different.

Alongside our community Occupational Therapy services, we have an established clinic providing robotic and computer-assisted rehabilitation.

For OTs interested in this area, there is an opportunity to develop skills in technology-assisted neurological and upper limb rehabilitation. Previous robotics experience is not required. Training and ongoing support are provided internally by experienced clinicians,



including a certified international robotics trainer.

If robotics isn't your area of interest, that's okay too. We are equally happy to consider an OT who wants to focus on community practice.

Abraham OT Services is an established private Occupational Therapy practice that has been providing community rehabilitation services for more than 20 years. We work with people with complex neurological and physical disabilities and have developed a reputation for providing individualised, evidence-based and client-focused Occupational Therapy. We deliberately remain a small team.

Our current team includes Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Assistants, Support Coordination and administration support. We value clinicians who are willing to share ideas, ask questions, support their colleagues and continue learning. As mentioned above, alongside our community Occupational Therapy services, we have an established clinic providing robotic and computer-assisted rehabilitation.

About you

- A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
- Ideally at least two years' Occupational Therapy experience; however, we are open to considering clinicians with different levels and areas of experience who demonstrate the right skills and approach
- An interest in working with people with neurological and/or physical disability
- Sound clinical reasoning and communication skills
- The ability to manage your own caseload while knowing when to seek support
- A collaborative approach to working with clients, families, colleagues and other professionals
- Good written communication and clinical documentation skills
- A current Australian driver's licence

- Eligibility to obtain the required Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is warm, curious, reliable and keen to keep developing as an Occupational Therapist.
