We’re looking for an Organic Technical Specialist to join Australian Organic Limited — someone who can bring strong technical knowledge of organic standards and certification together with curiosity, great communication skills and a genuine desire to help our industry grow.

This is not a role that sits quietly behind a desk.

You’ll be the expert organic technical face of Australian Organic, working directly with certified operators, members, prospective members, industry organisations, RDCs, government and producers and businesses who are simply curious about what it takes to become part of Australia’s organic industry.

What You'll DoYou’ll work across organic technical, policy, membership and industry including:

- being a trusted source of practical, accurate advice on organic standards, certification and industry issues for our members, government and broader industry;
- support and engage AOL members, understand what they need and help connect them with the right information and opportunities including developing education materials, webinars, field days and other engagement and education events and materials;
- welcoming and supporting businesses and individuals curious about organic, helping them understand the industry, certification pathways and how they can get involved;
- keeping across Australian and international organic standards, regulatory developments and emerging technical issues, providing submissions and recommendations as needed;
- researching industry issues and translating complex technical information into useful, accessible advice;
- contributing to policy positions, government submissions, research projects and grant opportunities;
- representing Australian Organic in meetings, working groups, industry forums and events;
- building relationships across government, agriculture, food, research,



certification and the wider organic community; and
- contributing technical expertise to member communications, education, training and industry content.

Who we’re looking forTechnical knowledge matters, but so does how you use it. We’re looking for someone who can be credible with an experienced certified operator one minute and explain organic certification clearly to someone completely recent to the industry the next.

You’ll ideally bring

- strong knowledge of organic agriculture, certification, standards, food/agriculture systems or a closely related technical field;
- an ability to interpret standards, regulation, science and technical information and turn it into practical advice and impact;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- solid relationship-building skills and an instinct for helping people;
- curiosity and the confidence to ask questions, investigate issues and find answers;
- excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, evidence-based information; and
- the confidence to represent Australian Organic externally.

Experience in organic certification, auditing, agriculture, food production, agronomy, sustainability, standards or a related field would be particularly valuable. Why Australian Organic Limited?Australia's organic industry is growing — and evolving.
