About Us:

KIVARI is a Sydney-based fashion brand founded in 2014, known for the ultimate trifecta of style, strength and confidence. All of our products are designed by our talented team in Australia, crafted with sustainability in mind and materials sourced from across the world. Our timeless designs are inspired by a passion for travel and a deep connection to the ocean.

For us, community comes first, we are committed to quality always and fostering a warm environment where creativity thrives and we provide the opportunity for you to evolve with us as our brand grows across the globe.

About you:

You are a talented and detail-obsessed Accessories Designer & Developer who loves bringing a concept to life, from first sketch through to finished sample. With 4+ years’ experience in accessories fashion design, you have a genuine passion for shoes, bags, jewellery, eyewear and accessories, and the technical know-how to translate a creative vision into an accurate tech pack, a well-fitted sample and a beautiful, aligned, commercial range.

You’re equally comfortable hand-sketching a new concept as you are building CADs in Adobe Illustrator, fitting a sample or negotiating costs with a factory. A natural collaborator, you work closely with our Head of Design and the wider design, product development and production teams to keep every accessories style on brief, on brand - unmistakably KIVARI, and on time - all while bringing a considered eye for quality, sustainability and style to everything you design.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Design and develop a beautiful, commercial accessories collection each season across shoes, bags, jewellery, eyewear and other accessories.
- Create hand sketches and accurate technical drawings using Adobe Illustrator to bring each design to life.

- Build and refine tech packs, ensuring CADs and construction detail are accurate and ready for factory communication.
- Review, fit and approve samples at fit, pre-production and shipment stage against design intent and quality standards.
- Negotiate costs and lead times to hit seasonal margin targets without compromising on quality.
- Source materials, hardware, trims and components that meet KIVARI’s quality, price and sustainability standards.
- Manage sample orders, the sampling and trims tracker, and the accessories critical path to hit every milestone.
- Partner closely with the design team, product development, textile designers and suppliers to keep every style progressing.
- Monitor market trends, competitors and international design directions to keep our accessories range fresh and commercial.
- Keep the Design tracker and Style Arcade up to date each season with accurate sketches, attributes and product information.
- Live and embody KIVARI’s values:

Community First · Quality Always · Dynamic Optimism · Always Evolving

Qualifications:

- 4+ years’ experience in Fashion Design (desirable).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design or Fine Arts, or College Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Excellent design and conceptual skills, with a solid sense of style and colour.
- Ability to sketch by hand as well as create accurate technical drawings.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (Adobe Suite) and Microsoft Excel.

- Strong understanding of product development, tech packs, costings and sampling processes.
- Clear, effective communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent time management with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- Availability to travel for research and product development.
- General commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing.

What We Offer:

- A creative, team-oriented setting: join a design team that values craftsmanship and creative excellence, where your work shapes new accessory ranges each season.
- Opportunities: as KIVARI continues to expand across the globe, we’re committed to helping you develop your skills and grow your career.
- Work-life balance: a part-time role (3 days per week) working from our brand recent Rosebery office.
- Sustainability commitment: play a role in shaping accessories that reflect our commitment to sustainability, creating a positive impact on our community and the environment.
