Bunbury Automotive Spraypainters is seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join our team in Bunbury, WA. This is a full-time position based at our Bunbury location (6230). As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition, working with precision and skill to ensure the highest quality repairs. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining our reputation for excellence in the automotive trades industry.
What you'll be doing
- Assess vehicle damage and determine the most effective repair approach
- Remove and replace damaged body panels using specialised equipment and techniques
- Perform metalworking tasks including straightening, reshaping and welding of vehicle components
- Use panel beating tools and machinery to restore structural integrity of vehicles
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for spray painting by ensuring smooth, even finishes
- Work collaboratively with spray painters to ensure seamless handover of vehicles
- Perform quality checks to verify repairs meet industry standards and customer expectations
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Document repair work and maintain accurate records for each vehicle
- Communicate effectively with customers and management regarding repair timelines and progress
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Panel Beater, preferably in an automotive repair workshop or body shop
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body structures, materials and repair techniques
- Proficiency with panel beating tools, equipment and machinery
- Experience with welding and metal fabrication processes
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality repairs
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Valid driver's licence and ability to move vehicles as required
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Competency in health and safety compliance and best practices
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive panel beating (preferred)
- Experience with modern automotive diagnostic and repair systems (advantageous)
