Role Description The Podiatrist role is a full-time, on-site position based across Peninsula Foot Clinic locations on the Mornington Peninsula, VIC. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting patient assessments for foot and ankle conditions, prescribing and reviewing orthotic devices, and performing biomechanical and musculoskeletal evaluations to guide treatment plans.
The role involves managing diabetes-related foot care, providing general podiatry services, and performing minor procedures such as ingrown toenail surgery and wart treatments. The Podiatrist will collaborate with the wider clinical team,
maintain accurate clinical records, educate patients on prevention and self-care, and contribute to high-quality, evidence-based practice.
Qualifications
- Clinical podiatry skills, including comprehensive assessment and treatment of foot and ankle conditions (Podiatry)
- Strong understanding of lower limb function and movement to guide treatment plans (Biomechanics)
- Experience in prescribing and managing custom orthotic devices (Orthotics)
- Competence in managing diabetes-related foot complications and preventive care (Diabetes)
- Broad medical knowledge relevant to musculoskeletal and vascular health of the lower limb (Medicine)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Podiatry and current AHPRA registration, or eligibility to obtain registration
- Ability to perform minor surgical procedures safely and effectively, including ingrown toenail surgery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered and culturally sensitive approach
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical setting and manage a varied caseload
- Willingness to work across multiple clinic locations on the Mornington Peninsula and participate in ongoing professional development
