Working closely with the CFO and broader team, you'll be responsible for a diverse range of accounting and finance activities. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll play an significant part in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the practice. The role also involves working with clients, suppliers, professional advisers and other stakeholders, so clear communication and a professional approach will be important.
Key responsibilities
- Trust and client accounting, including transactions, reconciliations and monthly statements
- Accounts payable, banking and bookkeeping
- Billing, debtors, WIP and client reporting
- Bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations
- Supporting BAS preparation and lodgement
- Preparing monthly balance sheet, profit and loss and consolidated reporting
- Processing monthly payroll and assisting with superannuation and payroll tax reporting
- Preparing financial and ad hoc reports for Partners and Managers
- Checking and coordinating work completed by junior finance team members
- Providing practical support to the CFO across finance and agreed HR activities
About you
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline
- CPA/CA qualified or currently studying towards your qualification
- At least three years' experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within professional services
- Proven payroll processing experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Experience with accounting software, preferably Xero
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
