Project Manager – Major Rail Facility (Queensland Train Manufacturing Program)

Gold Coast Region | Alliance Delivery | Rail Systems & Signaling Interfaces A major rail infrastructure alliance is delivering a recent maintenance and stabling facility to support Queensland’s future passenger fleet. This multi‑year program forms a critical part of the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), enabling the introduction of 65 new six‑car trains and modernizing rail operations across South East Queensland.

We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead key workstreams within the facility delivery; ideally someone with exposure to rail systems, signaling interfaces, operational technology or complex multi‑disciplinary infrastructure.

The Role

You will manage defined packages of work across the facility construction, rail systems integration,



signaling interfaces, operational technology, and commissioning activities. Working within the Alliance, you’ll coordinate engineering, construction, procurement, subcontractors and client stakeholders to ensure safe, timely and compliant delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead project planning, delivery, cost control, risk management and reporting
- Manage design coordination across civil, structural, rail systems and signaling interfaces
- Oversee procurement and subcontractor delivery
- Coordinate construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities
- Manage stakeholder engagement within the Alliance and with external parties
- Ensure compliance with rail safety, quality and operational requirements
- Maintain accurate governance documentation, forecasts and progress reporting

What You Bring

- Experience as a Project Manager in rail, infrastructure, signaling, systems, or complex multi‑disciplinary projects
- Strong capability in project delivery, stakeholder management and interface coordination
- Experience working in Alliance, JV, major contractor, or client‑side environments
- Ability to manage technical interfaces (signaling, SCADA/OT, rail systems, electrical, civil)
- Strong communication, planning and governance capability
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach and comfort working in a fast‑moving program environment

Highly Regarded (Not Essential)

- Experience with signaling, train control, SCADA/TCS, operational technology or rail systems
- Exposure to testing & commissioning environments
- Experience delivering projects within a live operational rail network
