The Opportunity
As a Project Manager at Queensland Civil Solutions, you will play a critical role in leading and delivering civil and piling projects across the powerline and renewables sector nationally. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project performance, from contract award through to final handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This is a full-time FIFO position operating on rosters of up to 2 weeks on / 1 week off, depending on project location, supporting projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for overall project delivery and performance
- Ensure delivery in accordance with contract requirements and client expectations
- Manage project budgets, cost control, and forecasting
- Own and manage the project program from award to completion
- Lead recovery planning and re-sequencing when programs fall behind
- Coordinate across multiple concurrent work fronts, working closely with engineering, safety, and site management teams
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and senior management
- Manage variations, claims, extensions of time, and procurement approvals
- Identify and control commercial and contractual risks
- Lead and mentor project teams, resolving major technical and operational issues
- Maintain oversight of subcontractor performance and compliance
- Final responsibility for safety, quality, reporting, and governance
- Manage project close-out, defect management, and successful handover
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in civil construction, with proven experience as a Project Manager on power, renewables, or energy infrastructure projects
- Experience in the powerline or renewables sector highly regarded
- Strong understanding of powerline and renewables construction specifications and technical requirements
- Experience delivering remote or FIFO projects highly regarded
- Solid commercial acumen and understanding of contract administration
- Demonstrated experience managing variations, claims, and contractual risk
- Proven ability to deliver projects to time and budget
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive performance on site
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
- Willingness to work FIFO rosters (up to 3:1, project dependent) but most projects are 2:1
