QA Tester / Junior QA Tester (Entry / Junior Level)Role DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented, methodical, and analytical QA Tester / Junior QA Tester to ensure the quality, functionality, and performance of our software applications and digital products. In this introductory-to-mid level role, you will work closely with QA Leads, Software Developers, Product Managers, and Business Analysts to identify, track, and assist in resolving software defects throughout the development lifecycle. You will be responsible for reviewing technical specification documents, writing comprehensive test cases, executing manual test suites across web and mobile platforms, and logging detailed bug reports.

Responsibilities include running regression tests prior to production deployments, verifying bug fixes, participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, and supporting automated testing frameworks as needed. Success in this position requires a keen eye for detail, strong logical thinking, a structured approach to test execution, good technical communication skills, and a passionate commitment to delivering seamless user experiences.

Qualifications

- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification is an advantage.
- Software Testing Fundamentals: Foundational understanding of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) methodologies, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC).
- Test Case Design &
- Execution:



Ability to review business requirements and user stories to write clear, reproducible test cases, test scripts, and acceptance criteria.
- Defect Management &
- Reporting: Hands-on experience or academic familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla, or Trello) to log, classify, and track software defects with transparent reproduction steps and screenshots/logs.
- Cross-Platform &
- Cross-Browser Testing: Practical experience manually testing web applications across major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and mobile applications across OS platforms (iOS and Android).
- API &
- Database Verification: Basic working knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and basic SQL database querying to verify backend data updates and service responses.
- Automation Testing Exposure: Introductory awareness or interest in automated testing concepts and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium) using scripting languages like JavaScript, Python, or Java.
- Agile &
- Scrum Collaboration: Familiarity with working in Agile/Scrum development environments, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.
- Technical Communication: Clear and precise written and verbal communication skills to articulate software anomalies constructively to developers and product managers.
- Professional Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, curious mindset to test edge cases, systematic problem-solving skills, and patience under fast-paced release schedules.
