About The Opportunity

Are you looking for a hands-on career where you can build practical skills, work with specialist rail equipment, and be part of a strong team supporting Australia’s rail network?

We’re seeking safety-focused, reliable and motivated individuals to join our Flashbutt Welding team based at our Port Augusta depot.

This is an opportunity to develop your skills in rail welding, plant and equipment operation, rail handling and depot operations, while contributing to the delivery of critical rail infrastructure.

In this role, you will assist with the production and handling of long welded rail lengths used in ARTC’s re-railing and track maintenance works. You’ll operate machinery and gantry cranes, assist with grinding and welding activities, move rail, complete inspections and support the broader team to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The role is hands-on and physically demanding, with the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience within the rail industry.

This role also requires the flexibility to travel intrastate for planned track work, typically 2–4 weeks per year.

If you’re looking to start or grow your career in rail and enjoy practical, hands-on work, we’d love to hear from you.
