We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Scrub Scout Nurse to join our dynamic surgical team on a part time basis . The ideal candidate will have experience in the surgical setting and be confident in supporting the surgical team in delivering the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the operating theatre and instruments for ophthalmic surgeries, including retinal cases.
- Scrub and assist the surgeon during ophthalmic procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterile field practices.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate effective workflow.
- Manage and account for surgical instruments and consumables before, during, and after procedures.
- Support and mentor junior staff when required.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons,
anaesthetists, and other perioperative team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards at all times.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (AHPRA or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in ophthalmology surgery is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and high-quality clinical care
- Australian work rights are required for this position.
