Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Registered Nurse role based in Lithgow, NSW.
The Registered
Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care, including assessing patients, administering medications, monitoring clinical status, and documenting care in accordance with professional and organizational standards. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting medical practitioners, and communicating with patients, families, and carers to promote understanding of treatment plans and health education. The nurse will participate in clinical handovers, maintain infection prevention and control practices, and respond to changes in patient conditions using sound clinical judgment.
The position also includes contributing to quality improvement activities, adhering to safety and risk management policies, and supporting a culture of respect, inclusion, and accountability.
Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., AHPRA) and eligibility to work in Australia.
- Proven skills in patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and clinical documentation.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control, workplace health and safety, and clinical risk management practices.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively in a busy clinical environment, and respond calmly to urgent or unexpected situations.
- Commitment to person-centered care, ethical practice, confidentiality, and culturally safe care for diverse patient populations.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing career development, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Previous experience in general practice, community health, or acute care settings is beneficial but not mandatory.
