About the Role The superannuation industry is navigating a period of significant regulatory change. APRA's Superannuation Data Transformation program has reshaped how funds report and define success for their members, and the next wave is already forming as regulatory oversight expands and the industry's use of data evolves.

Nuj has been on this journey since the beginning. Over the past six years we have worked alongside industry players as the regulatory data landscape took shape, and we have not just built tools to navigate it but helped pioneer how the industry thinks about and uses this data. As our Regulatory Specialist, you will be the domain expert at the heart of that work.

Your understanding of how APRA operates, how funds experience compliance obligations, and what the data actually means will directly shape what we build and how we support our customers.

We are a small, focused team, and you will work closely with everyone across the business, including Product, Data, and Customer Success. Much of your time will be spent at the interface between Nuj, our customers, and the regulator. Externally, you will represent our customers to regulators, advocating for their needs and helping them navigate their obligations.

Internally, you will champion what the regulator expects and what our customers need, making sure both shape the way we build and operate. Beyond super, you will also have the chance to help shape our expansion into other areas of APRA's remit and play a central role in the in-house AI capability we are building. There are no limits to the breadth of where you may go.

Whether you are coming out of a fund, from APRA, or from a consulting firm that works closely with funds, the common thread we are looking for is deep familiarity with how regulatory obligations actually land in practice,



and a genuine interest in doing something a bit different with that knowledge.

What You Will Do

- Be the APRA subject matter expert across the organisation, supporting Product, Customer Success, and Data teams with your interpretation of regulatory frameworks, reporting requirements, and industry developments
- Support our Customer Success team on complex regulatory queries from funds, covering APRA taxonomies, reporting obligations, and how to interpret data correctly
- Take the lead on our expansion into other regulatory spaces such as insurance frameworks, defining the reporting requirements, data structures, and customer needs that shape where we go next
- Play a central role in how we build our in-house AI capability, ensuring the models and tools we develop reflect how APRA's frameworks actually work in practice
- Work with Product to identify opportunities for new features grounded in real regulatory and operational needs

What You Bring

Essential

- 5+ years of experience in an APRA-regulated workplace, whether inside a superannuation fund, at APRA itself, an administrator, custodian or in a consulting firm advising funds
- Deep working knowledge of APRA's superannuation reporting frameworks, including the Superannuation Data Transformation program, taxonomies, and how funds experience compliance obligations operationally
- The ability to interpret regulatory change and communicate its implications clearly to non-specialist audiences
- Comfortable working across teams and influencing decisions without direct authority
- Strong analytical instincts and attention to detail when working with regulatory data

Desirable

- Familiarity with APRA's insurance frameworks - life, general, or private health
- Experience with SQL, data visualisation tools, or analytics platforms
- Exposure to product development, even if not a technical practitioner
- Experience with APRA's Heatmaps, Outcomes assessment, or peer benchmarking tools
