About the Role
Join our cutting-edge AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) team in Hindmarsh as an Allied Health Assistant. In this full-time role, you'll work alongside therapists to deliver high-quality therapy supports, helping clients build their communication skills and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include
Deliver therapy support activities with clients, families and education staff Assist with individual and group therapy sessions, including intervention support, set-up, pack-down and maintaining therapy spaces Prepare, organise and maintain therapy materials,
equipment and AAC devices for client use Record accurate and timely progress notes and activity data to support client outcomes and billing requirements Provide verbal and written updates on client progress and liaise with families, team members and external stakeholders as required Participate in ongoing training and professional development, including learning new AAC technologies, software and applications Support the orientation and development of colleagues through knowledge sharing, work shadowing and training activities Maintain a safe, organised and professional work environment Actively contribute to team meetings, planning sessions and service improvement initiatives
Desired Skills And Experience
Knowledge, skills and experience
Experience as an Allied Health Assistant, Therapy Assistant or relevant lived experience Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients, families and therapists Able to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage workflow Practical, flexible and able to support multiple programs and activities Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic digital/therapy technologies Experience with AAC, specialised equipment or supporting neurodivergent clients (highly regarded) Understanding of disability types, family-centred practice and inclusive support (desirable)
Education And Qualifications
Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (desirable) Qualifications in Community Services, Disability or Health Sciences (desirable) Currently studying an Allied Health degree (desirable) NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check (required)
