The Role
The APS 3 Logistics Officer provides logistics and administrative support to assist with the management of equipment, weapons, ammunition and other Defence materiel within an infantry battalion. Working under supervision and in accordance with established procedures, the role supports the receipt, storage, distribution and stocktaking of stores, maintains accurate records and contributes to the safe and secure handling of Defence assets.
The successful applicant will be organised, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team. Solid attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to follow procedures and instructions are essential. The role requires a commitment to workplace health and safety, security compliance and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while supporting unit operational requirements.

Works in isolation from other staff (remote supervision), work with energetics and explosives, confined spaces.

You will work as part of a diverse team supporting Army capability and operational readiness. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, sound communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. Experience using logistics or inventory management systems is desirable, along with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to provide logistics and administrative support within a reserve infantry battalion. The successful applicant will have strong attention to detail, valuable organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team while assisting with managing competing priorities.
The role requires the ability to maintain accurate records, follow established procedures and support inventory management activities involving Defence equipment, weapons, ammunition and other materiel. Applicants should demonstrate sound communication skills, a commitment to safety and security, and the ability to work collaboratively with both full time and part time military personnel.
Experience in logistics, warehousing, inventory management or administration is desirable, along with familiarity with computer-based logistics or inventory systems. Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and the safe handling of controlled stores or dangerous goods would be advantageous. Above all, the successful candidate will be adaptable, dependable and committed to supporting Army capability through the accurate and efficient delivery of logistics services.
