We are seeking an experienced and proactive QSE Advisor to join our team. This is an opportunity for a hands-on QSE professional who enjoys being out in the field, working closely with operational teams and influencing positive safety and compliance outcomes.
The Opportunity
Reporting within the QSE function, you will play a key role in ensuring Delta meets its regulatory, customer, certification and internal Management System requirements.
You will provide practical advice and support across our offices, yards and project sites, helping to embed a strong culture of Quality, Safety and Environment (QSE) throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Championing and promoting the Delta Management System across projects and operational teams.
- Delivering the QSE audit program across offices, yards and project sites, including audits against customer-specific QSE requirements.
- Assisting operational teams with the close-out of audit findings and corrective actions.
- Providing QSE advice and support in the development of project Management Plans,
methodologies and safe systems of work.
- Conducting site inspections and Safe Work Observations to ensure compliance with approved methodologies and project requirements.
- Facilitating project risk workshops.
- Leading and supporting investigations into Quality, Safety and Environmental incidents.
- Acting as the first point of contact for Return to Work and injury management matters involving project employees.
- Delivering company inductions, including Delta's Management System requirements.
- Coordinating employee onboarding and completion of client-specific inductions and management system requirements.
- Developing and delivering internal QSE training, toolbox talks, communications and safety alerts.
- Managing QSE administration, including Take 5 reporting, training registers and associated records.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, State QSE Managers and site-based QSE teams.
- Ensuring activities are undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and company requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and undertaking other QSE-related tasks as required.
What You'll Bring
To be successful in this role,
you will ideally have:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety/OHS or equivalent.
- Qualifications or demonstrated experience in Incident Investigation, such as ICAM or a similar methodology.
- Training and Assessment qualifications or experience delivering workplace training.
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualifications and/or experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
- Knowledge and experience working with AS/NZS ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, or equivalent management system standards.
- A practical understanding of relevant QSE legislation and industry requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility with employees, managers and customers.
- Excellent written reporting, administration and computer skills.
- A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to QSE.
- The confidence to influence positive change while developing solid working relationships at all levels of the business.
