Make the move. Make a difference.
Work in a passionate team environment.
Make a real impact where it matters most – join the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services as an Administration Officer. Be part of a passionate team delivering world-class healthcare in one of Australia’s most stunning and diverse regions. Take advantage of your opportunity to work within a collaborative and innovative care environment, supported by colleagues from psychiatry, general medicine, nursing, allied health, First Nations health, and lived experience backgrounds.
About us:
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (MHAOD) Service is leading the way in innovative perinatal mental health care. As pioneers of an Australian-first model, we are proud to deliver the Perinatal Acute Mental Health Hospital in the Home (PAMH-HITH) program, providing women and birthing people experiencing severe and acute perinatal mental illness with specialist, hospital-level care close to home.
This service is designed to operate as a virtual inpatient bed admission model, where consumers receive hospital-equivalent care in their home environment rather than within a traditional inpatient unit or Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) as a proposed interim model designed to meet the care needs of the community until a time when a physical MBU can be established in the Cairns and Hinterland region.
Join a passionate, multidisciplinary team that is redefining perinatal mental health care and improving outcomes for women, babies and families across Central Queensland.
We're committed to improving the health and wellbeing of people in Far North Queensland by providing high quality acute health care services.
Our values were developed by our staff, patients and community. They guide our work and actions every day.
Our staff are part of the community we serve. We believe that we can improve health outcomes by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of their local health services.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will…
- Demonstrate communication skills to effectively liaise with other staff and relate to consumers and the public in a sensitive, confidential, and courteous manner.
- Prepare and distribute agendas for MHAODS meetings, coordinate meeting rooms, organise appropriate resources and record accurate minutes during meetings.
- Efficiently operate a range of communications equipment to facilitate timely and successful communications including multifunction devices, telecommunication, videoconferencing & teleconference equipment.
- Maintaining fleet vehicles including servicing/maintenance, ordering new/replacement vehicles and incident management.
