Maroona Apiaries is seeking an experienced Head/Senior Apiarist/Beekeeper for an Immediate start. Based at Eulo, QLD

About the Role:

- Manage and maintain beehives, ensuring the health and safety of colonies in accordance with "National best management practice for beekeeping in the Australian environment".
- Manage hive conditions, control pests and diseases especially Varroa Mite.
- Seasonal beehive management including honey harvesting and pollination contracts.
- Manage Queen breeding and Nuc Colonies.
- Manage harvesting & extract honey.
- Maintain records and report on hive performance and health.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Prior experience in beekeeping/apiculture in a senior/head role
- Extensive knowledge of hive management practices.
- Ability to handle bees safely and confidently.
- Robust physical fitness and attention to detail.
- Experience with Varroa Management
- Truck licence (minimum HR)

Requirements:

- 5+ years commercial beekeeping experience with 2+ years in a senior/head beekeeper position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
