The Role
Support the delivery of accessible audience-facing digital products by leading accessibility testing and collaborating with product teams to embed inclusive design and best practices across ABC's TV, web and mobile applications.
The Job
- In collaboration with Researchers, Designers, and people with disabilities, conduct high level research to identify accessibility issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Clearly document accessibility issues, remediation recommendations and improvement opportunities and take appropriate action to address these areas in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Provide highly specialised advice and drive product team rituals, like planning, retrospectives and showcases, to ensure accessibility is considered at all stages.
- Lead the development and maintenance of an enterprise resource library of common app accessibility challenges and considerations.
- Manage all internal and external accessibility training and ensure ways of working are implemented in product teams.
- Audit deliverables from external organisations to ensure products meet accessibility requirements before acceptance.
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design internally and externally, showcasing ABC achievements.

About You
- Outstanding understanding of inclusive design, accessibility and usability, with experience supporting people with vision, hearing, cognitive and physical disabilities across digital products.
- Significant experience evaluating the accessibility of mobile, tablet and web applications, including the use of assistive technologies and partnering with delivery teams to resolve issues and implement recommendations.
- Outstanding expertise in accessibility standards, guidelines and testing practices, including WCAG, ARIA, Android and Apple accessibility requirements,
and the practical application of accessibility testing tools.
- Highly developed skills in accessibility testing and communicating evidence-based recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of human-centred design and inclusive product development, with the ability to embed accessibility considerations throughout the product lifecycle.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and organisational skills, with the ability to work across agile teams and manage competing priorities to deliver outcomes.
Desirable Experience:
While not essential, the following would be highly regarded:
- Experience evaluating the accessibility of TV applications.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting inclusive research.
