About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Support Officer to provide coordination, governance and administrative support within a high-profile Federal Government digital transformation environment.

Working closely with Project Managers, program executives and multidisciplinary delivery teams, you will help maintain the project controls, reporting, stakeholder activities and documentation required for effective delivery.

This position offers exposure to complex Commonwealth ICT transformation while providing the opportunity to work across project governance, reporting, coordination and digital delivery.

Position: Project Support Officer - APS5 Equivalent
Location: Canberra, ACT
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until 30 June 2027
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Security: Active Baseline clearance required before commencement

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate project schedules, milestones, meetings, actions and administrative activities.
- Maintain RAID registers, decision logs, action registers and project delivery records.
- Track project deliverables and follow up outstanding actions across workstreams.
- Prepare project status reporting, executive briefs, presentations and governance documentation.
- Coordinate governance forums and workshops,



including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
- Maintain project artefacts, document repositories, templates and version control.
- Consolidate information from technical, business and program stakeholders for reporting purposes.
- Support Project Managers with planning, scheduling, monitoring and project controls.
- Coordinate engagement with internal teams, external stakeholders, vendors and subject-matter experts.
- Maintain Microsoft Teams channels, SharePoint sites, shared drives and project distribution lists.
- Support procurement administration, contractor onboarding and project resource coordination.
- Assist with assurance, audit, compliance and governance requirements.
- Maintain secure and accurate records consistent with Commonwealth policies and obligations.
- Support Agile ceremonies, sprint activities and delivery tracking where applicable.
- Monitor dependencies, upcoming milestones and potential delivery constraints.
- Escalate emerging risks, issues or overdue actions through appropriate project channels.
- Assist with continuous improvement of project administration and governance processes.
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and provide support during peak delivery periods.

About You You are a capable Project Support Officer who combines strong administration with practical project governance and stakeholder coordination skills.

- Demonstrated experience providing project support or coordination within a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Previous experience supporting ICT, technology, digital or transformation projects.
- Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Practical experience maintaining project schedules, RAID registers, action logs and governance records.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor information for different audiences.
- Experience producing project reports, briefs, minutes, presentations and governance papers.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Confidence engaging with Project Managers, executives, technical teams and external stakeholders.




- Strong attention to detail and disciplined document management skills.
- Understanding of Commonwealth project governance, assurance or reporting practices is highly regarded.
- Experience supporting Agile, Scrum, SAFe or structured project delivery methodologies is desirable.
- Previous Australian Public Service or Federal Government contracting experience is highly regarded.
- Experience supporting procurement, vendors or contractor onboarding is advantageous.
- Baseline security clearance must be active prior to commencement.
- Australian citizenship is required due to Commonwealth security clearance requirements.
- Candidates must hold valid Australian working rights. Sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.
