- Work with hospital Patient Administration Systems (PAS) and associated clinical systems to understand data structures, workflows and integration requirements.
- Analyse existing interfaces, data feeds and integration processes to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop solutions for the movement of patient, encounter, admission, discharge, demographic and other healthcare-related data between systems.
- Work closely with technical teams, application specialists, vendors, business analysts and hospital stakeholders to define interface requirements.
- Develop and maintain data mappings, transformation rules, interface specifications and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot complex data, application and interface issues across multiple systems.
- Support integration testing, system testing,

UAT and production implementation activities.
- Monitor and support production interfaces, including investigation of failed transactions and data reconciliation issues.
- Ensure solutions meet hospital requirements relating to availability, performance, security, privacy and data integrity.
- Assist with the modernisation and replacement of existing or legacy interface solutions where required.
- Participate in deployment, cutover, hypercare and ongoing production support activities.

Essential Skills and Experience

- Strong commercial experience as an ETL Developer, Integration Developer or Interface Developer.
- Strong development experience using C# / .NET.
- Demonstrated experience developing interfaces between multiple enterprise applications and data sources.
- Strong experience extracting and transforming data from multiple source systems.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience designing and maintaining ETL workflows, data transformations and data validation processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of hospital Patient Administration Systems (PAS).
- Experience working within a hospital, healthcare or clinical systems environment.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data flows including patient registration, admissions, transfers, discharges and demographic information.
- Experience analysing data structures, source-to-target mappings and interface specifications.
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving capability across complex integrated systems.

- Experience supporting production interfaces and resolving integration failures.
- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Highly Desirable
- Experience with HL7 messaging and healthcare integration standards.
- Experience with integration engines or interface platforms used within healthcare environments.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, JSON, XML, flat files and other common integration methods.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS or other ETL technologies.
- Understanding of clinical systems including EMR, pathology, radiology, pharmacy, billing or patient management platforms.
- Experience working with healthcare data governance, privacy and security requirements.
- Previous experience delivering integration solutions within a large Australian hospital or health service.

Personal Attributes The successful candidate will be a technically capable and pragmatic developer who is comfortable working across a complex hospital environment. You will be able to understand both the technical integration requirements and the underlying hospital processes that drive them.
You will demonstrate:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- A practical, delivery-focused approach.
- The ability to investigate complex technical problems across multiple interconnected systems.

Role Focus This role would suit an experienced developer who understands that successful healthcare integration involves more than simply moving data between systems. The successful candidate will have the ability to understand where the data originates, how hospital workflows affect that data, how it needs to be transformed, and how downstream clinical and administrative systems consume it.
