About the role
We are seeking a practical and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance & Projects teams, working across water and wastewater infrastructure throughout Gippsland.
This role would suit a self-starter with solid mechanical aptitude, excellent fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key responsibilities
- Preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance
- Fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs on pumps, valves, gearboxes, pipework and other mechanical equipment
- Installation, commissioning and replacement of plant and equipment
- Completing work orders, recording maintenance activities and entering equipment condition information in the field using a tablet-based maintenance management system
- Completing SWMS, permits and other required safety documentation
- Identifying follow-up work, required parts and repairs
- Maintaining company vehicles, tools and equipment
- Participating in an after-hours on-call roster approximately every 10 weeks
About you
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical fault-finding skills
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to work
- Mechanical or plumbing maintenance experience, preferably in an industrial, utilities or infrastructure environment
- A current Victorian Driver Licence
- Good communication and basic computer skills
- The ability to work safely and effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Eagerness to learn, develop and broaden your skills
- Availability to participate in the after-hours on-call roster
- Mechanical Trade Certificate / Certificate III is desirable, but relevant practical experience will be considered
- Other desirable tickets include Medium Rigid (MR) Truck Licence, EWP, ESV Spotter, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Dogging or Rigging
- Water and wastewater industry experience would be highly regarded

Pre-Employment Requirements
The successful applicant will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing, prior to commencement.
