About the Opportunity
We are seeking seasoned and skilled SharePoint professionals (Developer/Technical BA /Technical Project Manager) with proven experience delivering legacy SharePoint to SharePoint Online development, migration, and transition projects within Government and/or Education environments. Candidates with diverse skill sets and the ability to work across multiple disciplines will be highly regarded.
This opportunity will play a critical role in delivering Stage 3 (Implementation and Migration) of the School Central Replacement Project, transitioning a legacy SharePoint 2010 platform to a modern SharePoint Online environment supporting approximately 170 school sites across the Northern Territory.
Scope of Work
- Lead the technical implementation of the approved SharePoint Online solution.
- Design, develop, configure,
and deploy modern SharePoint Online sites and site templates.
- Deliver SharePoint Framework (SPFx) solutions and custom functionality where required.
- Configure document libraries, calendars, governance controls, and collaboration capabilities.
- Lead pilot migration activities, including content seeding, migration execution, validation, and production cutovers.
- Manage phased migration waves for approximately 170 school sites while minimising business disruption.
- Support system testing, integration testing, defect resolution, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
- Provide post-deployment hypercare support and transition services.
- Produce technical documentation, migration runbooks, knowledge transfer materials, and BAU handover packages.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in SharePoint solution development and modernisation projects.
- Proven experience migrating SharePoint 2010, 2013, or later environments to SharePoint Online.
- Strong expertise with migration tools such as ShareGate or equivalent migration platforms.
- Hands-on experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), React, TypeScript, PowerShell, and PnP PowerShell.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Experience managing enterprise-scale migration initiatives, technical delivery, and production deployments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting testing activities, defect management, deployment planning, and operational handovers.
Desirable
- Experience working within Government or Education sector environments.
- Experience delivering large-scale SharePoint migration programs involving multiple business units or sites.
- Knowledge of records management, information governance, metadata, and retention practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Graph, automated provisioning frameworks, and up-to-date workplace technologies.
- Experience working within structured project governance and digital transformation programs.
