Your role will be directly responsible for:
Tendering
· Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimates
· Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations
· Assist with methodology preparation and programme development
· Contribute to tender submissions and project planning documentation
Project Delivery
· Assist with the planning, coordination and execution of projects
· Monitor project progress against programme and budget requirements
· Assist with project documentation, including ITPs, SWMS, schedules, and reports
· Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel
· Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and contract requirements
· Support compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements
· Assist in resource planning including labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
Client and stakeholder communication
· Act as a professional representative of the company
· Attend project meetings when required
· Liaise with clients, consultants, utility authorities and subcontractors
· Provide project updates and technical information as requested
· Assist with preparation of reports and project correspondence
Contract Administration
· Assist with procurement of materials and services
· Monitor project costs and quantities
· Assist with progress claims, variations and extension of time submissions
· Maintain project registers and documentation
Business Development
· Identify upcoming project opportunities and provide feedback to management regarding market conditions and potential work
· Monitor tender portals and procurement platforms for upcoming civil construction opportunities
· Assist in maintaining client satisfaction through professional communication and successful project delivery
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate your ability in the following key criteria:
· Degree or nearing completion of a degree in Civil Engineering.
· 0–3 years’ experience in a project engineering or site-based role
· Strong computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office and industry-specific software
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail
· Ability to interpret civil construction drawings and specifications.
· Previous industry experience through internships, vacation work, or site-based employment will be highly regarded.

We’re Ground Technique, an experienced and established Victorian excavation company specialising in civil construction and road maintenance. We’ve handled some of the biggest and toughest land clearing and excavation jobs across the state.
As a Junior Engineer, you will be motivated to support the tender process & delivery of civil construction projects. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience from the tender application through to project completion.
Our projects are located all over Victoria, and there will be times when you will be required to work away from home.
