The College:
Scotch Oakburn College is an independent, open entry day and boarding school of approximately 1,300 students from Early Learning through to Year 12, in association with the Uniting Church in Australia. Through the provision of academic, pastoral, and co-curricular programs, the College provides a holistic education designed to prepare students for their future.

About the Opportunity

Scotch Oakburn College is seeking enthusiastic, caring and community-minded individuals to join our Boarding House team as Residential Duty Staff.

Home to students from regional Tasmania and overseas, our Boarding House is more than a place of residence. It is a welcoming and supportive community where staff play a vital role in providing care, guidance and encouragement to young people living away from home.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will help create a safe, respectful and inclusive setting that promotes the wellbeing,



growth and success of our boarders.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the health, safety and wellbeing of boarding students.
- Assist with daily routines, supervised study and evening activities.
- Provide pastoral care and positive role modelling for young people.
- Maintain appropriate records and communicate effectively with Boarding House leadership.
- Supervise students and contribute to a safe and welcoming residential environment.
- Support the smooth operation of the Boarding House and its community culture.

About You

You will be:

- Passionate about supporting young people.
- Caring, empathetic and approachable.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
- A collaborative team player who contributes positively to a community environment.

Experience working with young people in education, residential care, youth work or similar settings will be highly regarded.
