About the role

This isn't just another feedlot job.

Lemontree Feedlot is growing, and we're looking for a reliable, switched-on Feedmill Operator / Cattle Feeder to join our team.

Based at our modern 20,000 head feedlot in Millmerran, this is a hands-on position combining feedmill operation, machinery, feeding cattle and general feedlot duties.

The role is important to the success of our operation. The feed that goes into the bunk each day directly impacts cattle health, performance and the results we achieve for our long-term clients.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working with machinery and cattle, and wants to become an important part of a team that is going somewhere.

What you'll be doing

Feedmill

- Operating the feedmill and associated equipment

- Loading and mixing cattle rations accurately and efficiently

- Monitoring feed quality and specifications

- Carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance of feedmill machinery

- Keeping the feedmill and equipment clean, organised and well maintained

- Identifying and reporting any machinery or feed-related issues

Cattle Feeding

- Feeding cattle according to daily ration requirements

- Operating feed trucks, tractors, feed wagons and other machinery

- Monitoring bunks and cattle behaviour

- Identifying changes in feed intake or cattle behaviour

- Communicating any concerns to the Feedlot Manager and Pen Riders

- Maintaining accurate feeding records

- Ensuring feed is delivered accurately and on time

General Operations

- Assisting with general feedlot duties as required

- Working with the wider team to maintain good cattle performance

- Following animal welfare, biosecurity and workplace safety procedures

- Taking pride in keeping machinery, equipment and work areas in good order

What we're looking for





We're not necessarily looking for someone who has done exactly this job before.

We're looking for the right person.

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience in a feedlot, farming, agriculture, feedmill or machinery operation

- Good machinery operating skills

- A mechanically minded approach

- Strong attention to detail

- Good communication skills

- A reliable and positive attitude

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team

- A genuine interest in livestock and agriculture

- A current driver's licence

- The flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays as required

Feedlot feeding, feedmill experience or knowledge of FY3000 would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Training & Development

Don't have feedlot or feedmill experience but have the right attitude and machinery skills? We still want to hear from you.

Training is available for the right person.

We'll teach you our feeding systems, ration program, feedmill processes and procedures.

What we're looking for is someone who is reliable, willing to learn, takes ownership of their role and wants to get better at what they do.

About Lemontree Feedlot

McNamee Partners operates Lemontree Feedlot, a modern 20,000 head beef feedlot located at Millmerran, approximately one hour south of Toowoomba.
