Our client is a respected faith-based organisation supporting churches, ministries and communities throughout Queensland. Behind that work sits a small finance team responsible for ensuring the financial foundations are strong, accurate and dependable. As Assistant Accountant, you'll play a key role in making that happen.

Payroll sits at the heart of the position.

You'll take responsibility for the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, superannuation obligations are met, and employee exit payments are processed correctly. Your expertise with Xero and confidence in payroll administration will be highly valued from day one.

Beyond payroll, you'll provide broad accounting and bookkeeping support across multiple entities, undertaking bank and general ledger reconciliations, accounts processing, journal entries and month-end activities. While there is variety in the role, this is not a highly technical accounting environment. Instead, it requires someone with a solid bookkeeping foundation, strong attention to detail and the discipline to consistently deliver accurate work.
