Senior Reconciliation and Community Partnerships Officer

- $57.22 hourly + superannuation

- Full-time position, with part-time applicants considered

- Maternity leave cover contract ending March 2027

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced professional to lead the delivery of our reconciliation initiatives and build meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations across Bunbury and the South West.

About the Role

As the Senior Reconciliation and Community Partnerships Officer, you’ll lead the coordination and delivery of the City’s reconciliation priorities, with a key focus on progressing the City’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

You will provide specialist advice, manage projects and build strong relationships across the organisation and community to turn reconciliation commitments into practical outcomes.

This is a hands-on role that combines project management, stakeholder engagement and strategic advice, working collaboratively with internal teams, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations and other key partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinating and driving the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the City’s Reconciliation Action Plan

- Leading and managing reconciliation projects and initiatives from planning through to delivery and evaluation





- Building and maintaining respectful and productive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations and key stakeholders

- Supporting and coordinating community engagement, events, activities and initiatives that promote reconciliation and cultural understanding

- Working with internal teams to embed reconciliation and culturally safe practices across the organisation

- Preparing reports, briefings and other documentation to support decision-making and monitor progress against priorities

- Representing the City at relevant community, stakeholder and partnership forums

About You

You’re an organised, collaborative and relationship-focused professional who is passionate about reconciliation and positive community outcomes.

You’ll bring solid project management skills, sound judgement and the ability to work confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders. You’re comfortable providing advice, managing competing priorities and turning strategic commitments into practical outcomes.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

- Experience in reconciliation, community development, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement, community partnerships or a related field





- Strong project management skills, including experience coordinating projects, monitoring deliverables and reporting on outcomes

- An understanding of the social, cultural and historical context impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

- Experience developing and delivering initiatives that support reconciliation, inclusion or community outcomes

- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish respectful and trusted partnerships

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefings and other professional documentation

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
