Oakgrove Industries is a small bespoke joinery shop doing premium residential and commercial work. It is a workshop, not a factory. You will build a laundry one day, be edging and drilling the next, then be on site scribing a kitchen into a wall the next. You need to read the drawing, work out how to do it, and get on with it. Part of the role is bringing along a junior cabinetmaker, which means showing him how and why, checking his work, and letting him have a go even when it is quicker to do it yourself.
Key responsibilities
Cabinet assembly and general bench work
Hardware, Blum runners and hinges, drawer fronts and adjustments
Edging, docking and machining as required
Site installs, scribing and fitting off
Mentoring a junior cabinetmaker
About you
Trade qualified, or solid experience if you are not ticketed
Can work from shop drawings and a cutting list unsupervised
Careful with finish quality, most of our work is on show
Willing to teach
Current driver's licence, white card a bonus
