Balmoral Dental Centre is looking for an experienced dental receptionist to join our team in Bulimba.
We want someone who is warm with patients, calm on the phone and genuinely enjoys keeping a busy day organised. This is a senior, hands-on reception role. You will still spend most of your time working directly with patients, while also helping us keep recalls, cancellations, handovers and the appointment book under control.
A typical week will include:
welcoming patients and handling phone and email enquiries
booking current patients and coordinating appointments
checking patients out and making sure the next step is transparent
working through recalls and following up unfinished items
helping fill short-notice gaps and recover cancellations
keeping reception checklists and handovers current
helping other reception team members follow the same routines
giving the principal dentist a short weekly update on what is working and what needs attention
We will protect 6 to 8 hours each week for recall, follow-up and improving reception systems. This is not a full practice manager role. Payroll, accounting, clinical governance and employment decisions remain with the principal dentist.
You will probably suit us if you have at least two years of dental reception or front-office experience,
communicate well with anxious or frustrated patients, and are the sort of person who follows a task through rather than leaving it for the next shift. Praktika experience would be helpful, but it is not essential.
The role is permanent full time, averaging 38 paid hours each week over a fortnight. The roster is four 9-paid-hour days each week, plus one 4-paid-hour shift each fortnight. Nine-hour days also include an unpaid meal break. The salary is $80,000 to $84,000 plus 12% superannuation, depending on experience.
We are hoping for a September start, although we will consider a reasonable notice period for the right person.
