Location: Remote (mainly), with occasional in office work in Sydney if needed

About Us

Sydney Music Lessons connects students across Sydney with music teachers by instrument, price and location. We're growing our social presence and looking for someone who wants to actually learn how to build an audience through short-form video.

The Role

This role is mainly about creating reels that grow our Instagram, but there's room to take on more as you show what you can do. You'll be figuring out what actually works on Instagram right now, not just filming and hoping for the best.

You'll own reels end to end. That means you're in front of the camera and cutting the edit yourself, so both sides of that need to be genuine strengths.

What You'll Be Doing
Planning, filming, presenting and editing Instagram reels for Sydney Music Lessons
Appearing on camera as the face of our content
Researching what's actually working in the music/education space on Instagram and adapting it to our audience
Testing formats, hooks and styles to see what lands, then doing more of what works
Working with an instrument on camera, whether that's a quick lesson tip, a song snippet, or a trend format

Who We're Looking For
Confident and charismatic on camera.



You're comfortable speaking to an audience and happy being the face of a reel. This is not a behind-the-scenes role.
A robust editor. You can cut a polished reel that doesn't look like raw UGC. CapCut experience preferred.
Fluent English speaker
Prior social media experience is a plus, but not required. We're just as interested in someone with a sharp eye for reels and the drive to learn what makes them succeed
A genuine read on Instagram audience preferences. You should be able to look at a reel and explain why it worked or didn't
Access to at least one musical instrument, you'll need this to actually make content
Comfortable understanding the difference between content that looks like an ad and content that feels native to the platform

What You'll Get This is unpaid, and we want to be upfront about that rather than bury it. What we're offering instead is real mentorship, you'll learn directly what actually works in short-form content and social growth. For the right person, there's a genuine pathway into paid work, either with us directly or through a partner digital marketing agency, once you've shown what you can do.
