Pisces Food Bar is seeking a Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic hospitality team on a full-time basis. Based in Virginia, QLD 4014, this role is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of our kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and cleanliness. As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting our chef and kitchen team.
Key responsibilities
•Preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning when needed.
Assisting with food preparation.
Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen setting, including regular cleaning of work surfaces, equipment and utensils
Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Receiving and storing deliveries in appropriate areas of the kitchen
Taking out rubbish and recycling waste appropriately
Following all food safety and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination
Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
Assisting with basic food stock management and inventory awareness
What we're looking for
A willingness to learn and develop skills within a professional kitchen environment
The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks throughout a shift
Reliability and a positive attitude towards work
Basic communication skills and the ability to take direction from senior kitchen staff
•Must hold open licence
Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential
