Rococo Bebe is developing a new collection of modest breastfeeding clothing, including nursing dresses, breastfeeding covers and future maternity products.
We have received our first physical samples and are looking for an experienced local pattern maker and sample machinist to help us professionally refine them before manufacturing.
This is a hands-on role. We need someone who can physically inspect, pin, cut, alter and preferably sew our samples—not someone who only provides sketches or digital designs.
Responsibilities will include
Reviewing physical garment samples in person
Conducting fittings and identifying fit, cut and proportion issues
Pinning and altering samples to demonstrate the correct fit
Correcting garment patterns, lengths, shapes and measurements
Improving concealed breastfeeding access, zippers and closures
Advising on suitable fabrics, stretch, opacity, weight and drape
Reviewing garment construction, seams and finishing
Sewing or assisting with improved local prototypes where required
Preparing accurate patterns, measurements and correction notes
Creating clear instructions that our overseas manufacturer can follow
Assisting with future RB Mama dresses and nursing products
The ideal applicant will have:
Qualified women’s-wear pattern-making experience
Solid sewing and sample-making skills
Experience fitting and altering garments
Knowledge of stretch fabrics and garment construction
The ability to translate ideas into production-ready patterns and samples
Experience with modest wear, maternity wear or nursing clothing is highly preferred
Transparent communication and strong attention to detail
This will begin as a paid freelance project reviewing our current dress and nursing-cover samples, with the potential for ongoing work across future RB Mama products.
