About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Sheet Metal Worker to fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and components. The role involves reading drawings and specifications, measuring and marking materials, cutting and shaping metal, joining parts and ensuring completed work meets quality, safety and project requirements.

Key responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches and job specifications.
Measure, mark, cut, bend, shape and form sheet metal using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment.
Operate equipment such as shears, brakes, presses, drills, punches, grinders and welding or soldering tools.
Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components including ductwork, panels, flashings, casings, frames and fittings.
Join metal parts using welding, soldering, brazing, riveting, bolting, sealing or other fastening methods.
Install sheet metal products on site or in workshop environments according to project requirements.
Inspect finished work to ensure correct measurements, fit, alignment, finish and compliance with quality standards.
Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a secure, clean and organised condition.




Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including correct use of personal protective equipment.
Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, contractors and team members to complete jobs on time.

About you
Experience in sheet metal fabrication, installation or a similar trade role.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings, measurements and specifications.
Competence using fabrication machinery, hand tools and measuring equipment.
Knowledge of metal types such as steel, stainless steel, aluminium and galvanised sheet.
Robust attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
Positive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Welding, soldering or brazing experience is desirable.
Trade qualification, apprenticeship or relevant vocational training in sheet metal work, fabrication, engineering or a related field is preferred.
Construction induction or workplace safety certification may be required depending on the site.
Current driver licence may be required for site-based roles.
