Remuneration Package: $596,075 – $639,082 p.a.
The Prospect Sante Recruitment is seeking an experiencedSenior Staff Specialist Physicianwith an interest in medical leadership to undertake the role ofHead of Department – MedicineatAlice Springs Hospital.
This is a unique opportunity to take on a senior leadership position within one of Australia's most important regional and remote health services.
Working under the direction of theOffice of the Executive Director Medical Services (OEDMS), you will provide leadership to the Department of Medicine, with responsibility for service delivery, workforce planning and the development of a sustainable, engaged and high-performing medical workforce.
The position offers the opportunity to combinestrategic medical leadership with clinical practice, with0.5 FTE allocated to leadership and management responsibilitiesand a flexible clinical component determined by service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical and professional leadership to the Department of Medicine
Lead service delivery and clinical workforce planning
Support the recruitment, retention and development of medical staff
Build a positive, high-performing and engaged medical workforce
Promote staff wellbeing and a supportive workplace culture
Support high-quality, secure and culturally appropriate patient care
Contribute to service planning and development
Represent Central Australia and the Division of Medicine as delegated by the OEDMS
Work collaboratively with General Medicine and relevant medical subspecialties
Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and service development

The Head of Department will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality medical services across a vast and geographically dispersed region.
You will work with clinicians across hospital and remote healthcare settings and have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of healthcare delivery throughout Central Australia.

Remuneration & Benefits
Total remuneration package: $596,075 – $639,082 p.a. The package comprises base salary and applicable allowances in accordance with theMedical Officers NTPS Enterprise Agreement.

About You
The successful applicant will be an experienced physician with:
Specialist registration or eligibility for specialist registration withAHPRA
Appropriate specialist physician qualifications
Demonstrated senior clinical experience
Strong medical leadership capability
Experience in service development and/or clinical governance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to culturally appropriate and patient-centred care
Ability to work effectively within a regional and remote healthcare environment
An interest or experience inGeneral Medicine and medical workforce leadershipwill be highly regarded.
International Medical Graduates with appropriate specialist qualifications and eligibility for Australian specialist registration are encouraged to enquire.
