An established and rapidly growing industrial automation business is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join its team in Western Sydney.
The business has achieved 15+ years of year-on-year growth developing a strong reputation for designing, building, installing and supporting industrial automation and control systems.
With extensive exposure across FMCG, food & beverage and packaging manufacturing the business delivers solutions incorporating PLCs, robotics, machine vision and sophisticated control systems for major industrial clients.
This is a newly created opportunity for a commercially driven BDM to help accelerate new business growth, develop major accounts and build long-term customer relationships.
Role Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities across industrial manufacturing
Build and maintain robust relationships with major FMCG and manufacturing clients
Develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities
Grow existing accounts and identify opportunities for further project work
Understand customer challenges and identify suitable automation solutions
Work closely with engineering and project teams to develop customer solutions
Prepare and present proposals, quotations and commercial opportunities
Manage the sales process from initial prospecting through to project award




Develop long-term strategic relationships with key decision-makers
Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and site visits
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in a BDM, Business Development or Sales role
Experience selling into FMCG, food & beverage, packaging or manufacturing
Strong understanding of industrial automation, engineering or technical solutions (Preferred)
Demonstrated ability to generate new business and win new accounts
Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills
Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and technical decision-makers
Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into solutions
Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated, commercially driven and comfortable working autonomously
Existing industry relationships across manufacturing would be highly advantageous
