We are looking for an enthusiastic1st, 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Chefto join our busy kitchen team at Buon Appetit in Camden.
Buon Appetit is a busy, family-owned Italian restaurant specialising in fresh, handmade Italian food and traditional wood-fired pizza.
What started as a small Italian food truck has grown into one of Camden's busiest hospitality venues, with a strong focus on quality ingredients, consistency and genuine Italian cooking.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is serious about becoming a chef and wants to learn in afast-paced, high-volume commercial kitchenwhile completing their trade qualification.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, hardworking and genuinely interested in food, fresh produce and developing their skills as a chef.
About the Apprenticeship
As an Apprentice Chef, you will work alongside experienced chefs while completing your formal training.
You will gain practical experience across a range of areas including:
Food preparation and basic cookery techniques
Knife skills and safe knife handling
Working with fresh ingredients and produce
Preparing vegetables, meats, seafood, sauces and other ingredients
Italian cooking techniques and dishes
Handmade pasta and traditional Italian food
Wood-fired pizza and dough preparation
Hot and cold larder preparation
Fryer, stove, oven and grill operations
Portion control, plating and presentation
Food storage, stock rotation and FIFO procedures
Food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
Correct use and cleaning of commercial kitchen equipment
Kitchen organisation and preparation for busy services
Working efficiently as part of a professional kitchen team
As your skills and confidence develop, you will be given greater responsibility and the opportunity to work across different sections of the kitchen.
Your Main Duties Will Include
Assisting chefs with daily food preparation and cooking
Preparing ingredients and completing section mise en place
Learning recipes, kitchen procedures and cooking techniques
Assisting with plating and service during busy periods
Following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
Maintaining a clean and organised work area
Cleaning kitchen equipment and preparation areas
Receiving, storing and rotating stock correctly
Following instructions from senior chefs and kitchen management
Assisting other sections of the kitchen when required
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has a genuine passion for food and wants to build a career as a chef

Is hardworking and willing to get involved
Is punctual, reliable and responsible
Can work well as part of a team
Can listen to instructions and take feedback
Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Has good personal hygiene and presentation
Is organised and able to work under pressure
Is available to work evenings and weekends as part of their apprenticeship
Understands that becoming a chef requires commitment, consistency and hard work
Previous kitchen experience is beneficial butnot essential for a 1st Year Apprentice.
Attitude, reliability and a genuine desire to learn are extremely key to us.
Applicants who have already commenced their apprenticeship and are looking to continue their2nd or 3rd Yearare also encouraged to apply.
