The Opportunity
As a
Graduate Urban Designer
in the City ofPerth, you will support the development and delivery of urbandesign and public realm projects, providing quality service andadvice across projects of low to moderate complexity.
Reporting to the
Lead City Designer
within our
Transport and Urban Design
team, your responsibilities would primarily include:
Supporting the development of urban design studies, plans,frameworks and projects, with increasing autonomy overtime;
Assisting with project briefs, concepts, graphic materialsand final designs, as well as the coordination of consultantsand contractors;
Supporting community consultation and building positiveworking relationships with internal and external stakeholders;and
Undertaking research, data collection and analysis toidentify urban design issues and opportunities and supportproject recommendations.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant design discipline,such as Urban Design, Landscape Architecture or Architecture,or an approved equivalent professional qualification;
A sound understanding of urban design principles and theability to develop imaginative and deliverable concepts thatrespond to community needs, urban trends, spatial context andthe history of place;
Sound knowledge of relevant software and applications,including MS Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD and Adobe CreativeSuite;
Sound written, verbal and graphic communication skills,with the ability to prepare clear graphics, drafts andreports;
Solid organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines undersupervision; and
The ability to work collaboratively within a team and buildpositive working relationships.
One to two years' post-graduate experience is desirable.
