The Telecommunications Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems and equipment, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with industry standards.
The role involves diagnosing technical issues, implementing solutions, and collaborating with team members to deliver optimal performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: System Installation and Setup: Install and configure telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, antennas, and cabling systems.
Test and align transmission systems to achieve optimal performance.
Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of systems to prevent downtime.
Diagnose and resolve technical faults efficiently.
Replace or repair faulty equipment components as necessary.
Network Management: Perform network testing to ensure stability and reliability.
Collaborate with engineers to optimize system performance and implement upgrades.
Customer Support: Provide technical assistance to clients, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
Educate clients on the proper use and maintenance of installed systems.
Compliance and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and telecommunications standards.




Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure successful project delivery.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning.
Requirements: Educational Requirements: Certificate III or IV in Telecommunications Technology or equivalent.
Experience: At least 12 months of relevant experience in the telecommunications industry.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, including wireless networks and fiber optics.
Skilled in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with ACMA standards and industry safety protocols.
Work Setting: Work may involve outdoor settings, confined spaces, and working at heights.
Some travel to client locations may be required.
Adherence to workplace health and safety practices is mandatory.
Additional Information: Reporting To: Director Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Salary Range: $80,000 to $85,****** Tools and Equipment Provided: Employer will provide necessary tools, testing equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
