Do you want to helpshape a more resilient future for one of Australia's largest coastal cities?
We're looking for an experienced and passionate climate professional to lead programs that help Lake Macquarie respond to the challenges of climate change, natural disasters and environmental risks. This is an opportunity to influence long-term planning, deliver meaningful projects and work with government, industry and community partners to strengthen resilience across our city.
As a Senior City Resilience Officer, you'll play a key role in developing and delivering initiatives that reduce climate-related risks while helping Council and the community prepare for a changing environment. You'll combine strategic thinking, project leadership and stakeholder engagement to drive positive outcomes for Lake Macquarie.
This exciting role will:
Lead and coordinate climate change adaptation projects and programs across Council
Develop practical solutions that improve resilience to climate-related hazards and natural disasters
Manage complex projects, including research, planning, consultation and implementation
Oversee project budgets of up to $3 million
Build strong partnerships with government agencies, industry representatives, community groups and other stakeholders
Lead, mentor and support team members to achieve strategic environmental outcomes
Identify and secure grant funding opportunities
Represent Council at meetings, committees and industry forums
LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced environmental or climate skilled who enjoys turning strategy into action and delivering outcomes that make a real difference to communities.
A degree in Environmental Science, NaturalResource Management, Climate Change Adaptation or a related field, orequivalent experience
Demonstrated success delivering complexprojects in climate resilience, sustainability or natural resource management
Strong knowledge in climate change adaptation,climate mitigation, environmental sustainability or a related discipline
Experience developing and implementingprograms, strategies and action plans
Strong financial management and reportingskills
Exceptional stakeholder engagement andcommunication skills
A Class C Driver's Licence

This position provides:
Competitive salary from $118,937 to $138,224 per year + 12% superannuation
Enterprise Agreement pay increases apply
Commencing salary set in line with skills and experience with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary range
35-hour working week, with flexible working conditions
