Job Description
Green by Nature currently manages many prestigious sports turf sites across greater Melbourne, and this is a unique prospect for a Racecourse Supervisor to work within our team at Caulfield Racecourse working alongside one of Racing's most prestigious clubs - The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC)

You'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the racecourse and grounds maintenance, ensuring the venue is presented to the highest standard year-round. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work closely with your team to keep the grounds looking their best and operations running smoothly, particularly on race days. The role includes weekend and race-day work throughout the year, so flexibility around race meetings and key club events is essential.

Responsibilities include:

Receive briefing from MRC Track management at the commencement of the day and carry out instructions, delegating to the rest of the team when required;
n
Lead the preparation and maintenance of the race track and surrounding grounds.
n
Assist with the setup and pack-down of race meetings and club events.
n
Manage turf care, including irrigation, fertilisation, and track renovations.
n
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a range of machinery and equipment.
n
Coordinate maintenance and repairs across club facilities and infrastructure.
n
Ensure compliance with WHS requirements and SafeWork SA regulations.
n
Lead, supervise, and support the grounds maintenance team.
n

About You
n
n
Experience in grounds, turf, sports field or racecourse maintenance is essential
n
Must have a valid Manual Drivers licence
n
Must have previous experience managing teams
n
Must be available to work on assigned racing event days
n
National Police Check & Working with Children Check (Willingness to obtain)
n
Previous experience in turf management, greenkeeping, or a related field preferred.
n
Knowledge of turfgrass species, growth habits, and maintenance requirements.
n
Familiarity with turf care equipment and machinery, including mowers, aerators, and sprayers
n
