Warrior Fabrication is a growing Australian manufacturing company based in Campbellfield, VIC. We are looking for an experienced CAD Draftsperson / SolidWorks Designer to support our design, product development and manufacturing operations.
This is a hands‐on design role suited to someone who understands how sheet‐metal products are manufactured and can produce accurate, practical and production‐ready designs.
Key responsibilities
Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks
Design sheet‐metal components and fabricated assemblies
Prepare accurate flat patterns, DXF files and production drawings
Produce bend details, tolerances, weld details and assembly drawings
Check all dimensions and specifications before releasing files for manufacture
Design products suitable for laser cutting, press‐brake bending, welding and assembly
Work closely with production staff to resolve manufacturing issues
Modify and improve existing products and designs
Assist with new product development and prototyping
Maintain organised drawing files, revisions and documentation
About you
Strong knowledge of SolidWorks is essential
Advanced experience with SolidWorks Sheet Metal
Good understanding of bends, flanges, bend allowances, K‐factors and flat patterns




Ability to create accurate manufacturing and engineering drawings
Experience working with sheet‐metal parts and welded assemblies
Practical knowledge of laser cutting, press‐brake bending and welding
Ability to check designs for manufacturability before production
Strong attention to detail and problem‐solving ability
Good communication skills and the ability to work with production staff
Relevant qualification in engineering drafting, mechanical engineering, product design or a related field
Previous experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment is highly regarded
