Disability Support Worker classification – Level 2, based on qualifications and experience
Casual loading and applicable penalty rates apply

About the Opportunity
Bayley House is seeking
Casual Residential Support Workers
to join our dedicated residential services team, supporting adults with intellectual disability to live meaningful, connected and fulfilling lives.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, dignity and participation. You will support residents in their homes and communities, assisting with daily living, personal care, social activities, community participation and the achievement of individual goals.

About the Role
Working as part of a collaborative residential team, you will provide high-quality support tailored to each person's individual needs, preferences and goals.
You will build positive relationships with residents and support them to exercise choice and control in your everyday lives, while encouraging independence and meaningful participation in their home and community.
The role may involve working across a range of shifts, including
morning, afternoon/evening, weekend and public holiday shifts
, depending on service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with intellectual disability in a residential setting




Support residents to develop and maintain independence in daily living activities
Assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication support and other daily living requirements as outlined in individual support plans
Support residents to participate in community activities, social opportunities, appointments and recreational activities
Encourage choice, dignity, independence and self-determination in all aspects of support
Apply Person-Centred Active Support principles to maximise participation and engagement
Support residents with a range of support needs, including complex and/or High Intensity Supports where required
Follow individual support plans, health plans, Positive Behaviour Support Plans and other relevant documentation
Build positive and respectful relationships with residents, families, carers and support networks
Maintain accurate participant records, progress notes, medication documentation and other required records
Identify and report changes in a resident's wellbeing, support needs or circumstances
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, respectful and welcoming home environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues, Team Leaders, Program Managers and other internal and external stakeholders
Comply with Bayley House policies, procedures, quality standards, safeguarding requirements and workplace health and safety obligations
About You
You are compassionate, reliable and genuinely motivated by supporting people with disability to live a life of their choosing.
You understand that residential support is about much more than completing tasks. You enjoy building genuine relationships, encouraging independence and supporting people to have choice, control and meaningful experiences in their everyday lives.
You are comfortable working independently while also contributing positively to a team environment. You can remain calm and professional when responding to changing needs and are confident supporting people with a range of abilities and support requirements.
To be considered you will need:
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services or a related qualification
Experience supporting adults with intellectual disability and/or complex support needs
Experience in a residential, disability, aged care, community services or similar environment




Understanding of person-centred practice and Person-Centred Active Support principles
Experience supporting people with personal care and daily living activities
Understanding of positive behaviour support and supporting behaviours of concern
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive and respectful relationships with residents, families, carers and colleagues
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence using technology and electronic record-keeping systems
Prior to commencing all employees will require:
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain
Current Victorian Driver's Licence
Applicants must have full and unrestricted working rights in Australia for the duration of their employment with Bayley House. (Applicants are required to provide evidence of their working rights as part of the recruitment process)
Availability to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays, where required
